What is Norton 360 Advanced?

Norton 360 Advanced is Norton's most comprehensive standalone consumer package: a security suite for up to 10 devices. It's the successor to Norton 360 Premium in the range and offers the same protection, supplemented with identity restoration, help after a stolen wallet, Social Media Monitoring and more Cloud Backup storage. That extra layer of protection isn't an unnecessary luxury: in 2026, around 1 billion people worldwide were affected by the 20 largest data breaches. Our first impression

We tested Norton 360 Advanced in July 2026 on a Windows laptop and an iPhone. While activating and installing security software can sometimes be cumbersome, this went remarkably smoothly with Norton: the software itself detected that we had conflicting software installed (Acronis True Image, in our case) and immediately indicated what we needed to remove first for Norton to work optimally. From that point on, everything was ready within a few steps, from one clear dashboard.

What stood out to us during use?

• Right after installation, you can set up dark web monitoring: monitor up to 5 email addresses, 5 phone numbers and 10 credit cards.
• The VPN is already built into the programme on the laptop. So you don't need to download a separate VPN app, which is often required with comparable packages from other brands.
• Every setting has an explanation in the sidebar about what the feature does and what it protects you against. Handy if you're not technically minded.
• The dashboard is clear: you manage all features (device protection, VPN, dark web monitoring, cloud backup, parental control) from a single screen.
• Norton's AI assistant Genie answers questions about online threats and scams, and can check suspicious messages or web pages. Handy if you don't yet know much about digital safety.

All Norton 360 Advanced features at a glance

• Device protection: Viruses, malware, ransomware and exploits can hold your files hostage, steal data or render your device unusable. Device protection guards against this with, among other things, exploit prevention, a sandbox, firewall, intrusion prevention, Safe Web and AI Agent protection.
• Secure VPN: On public wifi, for example in a café, hotel or at the airport, others can intercept your internet traffic and capture passwords or banking details. Secure VPN encrypts the traffic you send and receive, so no one else on that network, even on unsecured wifi, can read what you send or receive.
• Private Browser: Trackers and adverts follow your browsing behaviour and collect personal data without you noticing. The Private Browser blocks trackers and adverts, so you can browse more safely and with greater privacy.
• Parental control: Children can encounter inappropriate content or too much screen time online, without you as a parent noticing right away. With four restriction levels based on age, you set up web supervision, time and location supervision, app and search supervision, school time settings, video supervision and activity reports.
• Identity restoration support: If your identity has been stolen, you often don't know where to start, and recovery can take months. In the event of (suspected) identity theft, you contact a Norton specialist, who opens a recovery case, gathers all the information and guides you from start to finish, including resolving disputes with the parties involved.
• Dark Web Monitoring / identity protection: Stolen data such as passwords and credit card numbers is often traded on the dark web, without you knowing until damage has already been done. You choose which personal data is monitored yourself. If your data is found on the dark web, you'll see where, which data has been exposed and what steps you can take to limit the risk.
• Social Media Monitoring: A hacked social media account can be used to scam your contacts or damage your reputation. Norton checks your linked accounts (including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube) for account takeover and suspicious activity, and warns you about potentially dangerous links.
• Help after a stolen wallet: After a stolen wallet, you need to quickly block and replace multiple cards, and it can be hard to keep track of what other steps you need to take. Norton supports you in blocking and replacing credit cards, your driving licence and other important cards, and helps you think through all the follow-up steps.
• Protection against scams: Scams via text message, email and fake websites are becoming increasingly sophisticated and aren't always easy to spot. AI-driven scam detection via Safe Web (web pages) and Safe SMS (text messages) helps identify these, supplemented by AI assistant Genie so you can check suspicious messages yourself.
• Cloud Backup: A crash, ransomware attack or stolen laptop can mean losing all your files and photos. With 200 GB of encrypted, automatic Cloud Backup of your PC, you prevent this and can always fall back on your backup.
• Password management: Weak or reused passwords make it easier for attackers to gain access to multiple of your accounts. Password management stores your passwords in an encrypted vault in the cloud, so you can use a strong, unique password for every account.
• Performance improvement: Outdated software and a full disk slow down your PC. The software updater, file cleanup, disk optimisation and startup manager keep your PC running smoothly.
• SafeCam: Hackers can remotely gain access to your webcam or microphone and listen in or watch you without you noticing. SafeCam protects your PC's webcam and microphone against remote access.

Who is Norton 360 Advanced suitable for?

Norton 360 Advanced is the right choice for households and families, home users and sole traders or freelancers who want to protect up to 10 devices and are looking for maximum protection, including identity restoration.

Who is it less suitable for?

Want to protect fewer than 10 devices and don't need the extra features of identity restoration, help after a stolen wallet or Social Media Monitoring? Then Norton 360 Deluxe will also suffice. If you do value those features highly, Advanced is often still the better choice even with fewer devices.

Important to know: automatic renewal

Norton 360 renews automatically after the first year. The price you see now applies to the first year; after renewal, you pay the regular price. Upon activation, Norton asks you to enter payment details (bank account, credit card or PayPal). Automatic renewal ensures you're never left unprotected, but you can always manage or cancel the renewal yourself in your Norton account.
