Norton 360 Standard is the entry-level model within the Norton 360 range: basic protection for 1 device, with a built-in VPN, password management and 10 GB Cloud Backup. It's deliberately kept compact: features such as Dark Web Monitoring, parental control, identity restoration, help after a stolen wallet and Social Media Monitoring aren't included in this package, you'll only find those from Norton 360 Deluxe upwards. Our first impression

We tested Norton 360 Standard in July 2026 on a Windows laptop. Because Standard only protects 1 device, installation is done within a few minutes: you activate the licence, and the VPN and password management are immediately ready to set up.

What stood out to us during use?

• The VPN is already built into the programme, so you don't need to install a separate VPN app; with one click, you browse encrypted, even on unsecured wifi in a café or on a train.
• After installation, password management filled in our login details automatically via the browser extension, so we no longer had to remember passwords ourselves.
• Scanning for viruses and malware ran in the background without us having to set up anything for it.
• Norton's AI assistant Genie is handy if you're unsure whether a message or website is a scam.

AI-driven scam detection via Safe Web (web pages) and Safe SMS (text messages) helps identify these, supplemented by AI assistant Genie so you can check suspicious messages yourself.
• Cloud Backup: A crash, ransomware attack or stolen laptop can mean losing all your files and photos. With 10 GB of encrypted, automatic Cloud Backup of your PC, you prevent this and can always fall back on your backup.
• Password management: Weak or reused passwords make it easier for attackers to gain access to multiple of your accounts. Password management stores your passwords in an encrypted vault in the cloud, so you can use a strong, unique password for every account.
• Performance improvement: Outdated software and a full disk slow down your PC. The software updater, file cleanup, disk optimisation and startup manager keep your PC running smoothly. Who is Norton 360 Standard suitable for?

Norton 360 Standard is the right choice for home users who want to protect 1 device, but don't need Dark Web Monitoring, parental control, identity restoration support, help after a stolen wallet or Social Media Monitoring. You get solid basic protection for 1 device, without the extras of the heavier packages.

Who is it less suitable for

This package is less suitable if you want to protect more than 1 device, or if you'd still like extra features such as Dark Web Monitoring and parental control. Automatic renewal and renewing yourself via 2GO Software
